Danny Welbeck's injury looks set to keep the striker out until February and, if reports are to be believed, Arsenal are close to signing a new forward in the January transfer window.

Russia's Aleksandr Kokorin was on the Gunners' shortlist during the summer but Dynamo Kiev rejected a loan move, however, it seems a permanent deal is about to be struck up between the two clubs.

And GiveMeSport will tell you all you need to know about the man who could be drafted in to support Arsenal's title challenge.

HE HAS SPENT HIS WHOLE CAREER IN RUSSIA

At 24-years-old, Kokorin has never played domestic football outside of his native country.

In fact, he has never played competitively for another club besides Dynamo Moscow, who he has represented 201 times since making his debut in 2008.

He did make a transfer to Anzhi Makhachkala in 2013 after the club triggered his €19 million release clause. However, before he could make a competitive appearance, the whole playing squad was put up for sale and he returned to Moscow.

HE IS NOT PROLIFIC

Since making his league debut for Dynamo in 2008, Kokorin has scored 41 goals in 171 appearances.

His most prolific campaigns came between 2012 and 2014 when he scored 10 goals in back-to-back seasons as Moscow finished seventh and fourth respectively.

So far this campaign, he has played in just eight of Dynamo's 18 league matches, scoring four goals.

HE HAS AS MANY WORLD CUP GOALS AS WAYNE ROONEY

Kokorin has 36 caps for the Russian national team and will likely line up against England in their Euro 2016 Group B game in Marseille.

The 24-year-old has scored 10 goals in those appearances including the opening goal in the 1-1 draw with Algeria at the 2014 World Cup.

He also scored a penalty to wrap up a 2-0 win over Montenegro that booked Russia's place at next summer's European Championships.
