The WWE will probably look to put 2015 behind them despite some fantastic moments taking place, however, the issue with the ratings and the and fans not enjoying the product the WWE will hope they can change that situation in 2016.

Fans enjoy unpredictability and when the WWE they bold risks to keep the product fresh, not the same old story and the same old match time and time again.

I do think the WWE will take some risks in 2016 to see how the fans react and whether it’s something they’d appreciate. Here are my bold predictions for 2016.

JOHN CENA WINS HIS 16TH WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP

I believe 2016 will be the year John Cena finally captures his 16th World Championship to tie with the legendary Hall of Famer, Ric Flair. Despite what fans think of Cena, it’s clear that his absence has had an effect on the main roster as he plays such an important part and we can be sure that when he returns it won’t be too long before he’s in the championship picture again.

It’ll be a while before he overtakes Flair, but 2016 looks to be the perfect year to have Cena in the World Championship picture especially towards WrestleMania.

It’s set to be the biggest WrestleMania ever so it wouldn’t be a huge surprise to see him in the mix, but with big names such as Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins looking to get involved in the picture, will Cena have to wait longer for title number 16?

DEAN AMBROSE WILL BECOME WWE WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION

Names such as Rollins, Reigns, Cena and Brock Lesnar are superstars who will always remain active in the WWE World Heavyweight Championship picture, but I believe that 2016 is the year we will finally see Dean Ambrose capture the big one.

The way Ambrose has been booked since The Shield split hasn’t been what fans hoped for as Reigns has been the one taken to the championship picture, so it would be a huge surprise to see someone like Ambrose win the championship from out of nowhere.

With superstars winding down it will be good for the WWE to pick out somebody the fans don’t expect to win to make it an even bigger surprise. The fact that the WWE Universe loves Ambrose makes it that much more special and they wouldn’t complain either.

LA SOMBRA WILL GET A QUICK PUSH TO THE MAIN ROSTER

There was a lot of hype surrounding La Sombra’s arrival to the WWE, so much so that NJPW were said to be disappointed with his decision to jump to the US but his arrival has been met with a lot of excitement and rightfully so.

He’s said to be the next big Latino star the WWE wants to spearhead that division and hopes are high for him considering he’s fantastic in the ring, he has a great look; he can speak English, and the WWE love his professionalism. Saying that, I believe La Sombra will get a quick push to the main roster in 2016 – similar to a Kevin Owens call-up.

If the WWE want to replace Rey Mysterio quickly, and they’re not looking at Kalisto or Alberto Del Rio as the replacements; a quick call-up will be needed. If they don’t alter his move-set too much, then he should be a big star on the main roster, and I believe 2016 is the year La Sombra will not only make an impact on NXT but the main roster also.

KEVIN OWENS WINS MONEY IN THE BANK

Kevin Owens is a huge star regardless of how people critique him for his size and look, in fact, it just goes to show you don’t need to be the best-looking guy or in the best of shape to be a fantastic wrestler and Owens proves that on a weekly basis.

Triple H even knows that Owens is a star, and there’s no way 2016 will be a bad year for Owens; I believe along with epic matches and even a potential feud with Sami Zayn, a Money in the Bank victory will also be on the cards. This will allow the WWE to build Owens up as a solid World Championship contender, something he’s more than capable of doing brilliantly.

Right now Owens would be a fantastic choice to be a top Money in the Bank holder as a heel, much like Rollins was as heels bring more excitement when they cash in the briefcase. Owens has recently lost the Intercontinental Championship to Ambrose, so could Owens be set to move on to bigger things?

BAYLEY, ENZO AMORE AND BIG CASS WILL DEBUT THE NIGHT AFTER WRESTLEMANIA

The night after WrestleMania is always a special event as Monday Night Raw receives some of the loudest reactions in the entire year. This is helped by the fact that the WWE try to go all out by having surprises and recently we’ve seen the likes of Paige and Neville making successful main roster debuts the night after WrestleMania.

It just so happens the NXT stars will be in Dallas as a TakeOver special is scheduled to take place two night before WrestleMania so it wouldn’t be a huge surprise to see a few NXT stars make the full-time move to the main roster. In 2016, I believe they will be current NXT Women’s Champion Bayley and the immensely popular Enzo Amore and Colin Cassady.

There are plenty of NXT stars who could make the move on that particular night such as Finn Balor and Apollo Crews, but I feel that night would be perfect for the three to appear, as they’re three of the most popular stars on NXT now, and a lot of people know about them. They’re destined for great things, and it will be a great night to remember.
