Arsenal fans, good morning.
Christmas fast approaches and beyond that the January transfer window. It’s safe to say we’ve got no shortage of breaking news and rumours.
With that in mind, prepare to enjoy the very best the mainstream media have produced today. We’ve done our best to keep it credible. Read on for more.
Henry wants new defensive midfielder
If anyone has a right to comment on Arsenal’s expected transfer business, it’s Thierry Henry.
For fans wondering, yes, he has done as much - as per the Daily Express - declaring that he thinks Arsene Wenger should be looking to sign a defensive midfielder next month.
Not rocket science, given the injuries Wenger has, but Henry feels Arsenal need someone to hold the fort if Mathieu Flamini picks up a knock.
"It’s a hard one, because for me right now I think Arsenal’s squad is good enough to win the league," Henry said at a Q&A session.
"What we need is some backup to make sure we have a guy that can hold the fort if Flamini gets injured.
"The position would be holding midfielder for me, and with Arsenal they are at the top and the amount of injuries they’ve had is not normal.
"When those guys come back they can be your new signings. But we keep saying that! I will have answered that [question of who they should sign] properly if the whole team was there, but the boss never has everyone available."
They’ve recently been linked with Victor Wanyama and William Carvalho. Let us know who you would acquire, if you were Wenger, in the comments box provided.
Cazorla injury update
Moving on, Santi Cazorla has given a projected timeline for his injury recovery, claiming he wants to be back playing in three months.
Apparently the club have told him it will be closer to four - the Spaniard said it was his priority to return by March.
Sanchez wants to be fighting fit for City
Meanwhile, Alexis Sanchez is determined to be fit for when Arsenal meet Manchester City in what could be a defining clash next Monday.
The Chile international is still struggling with a hamstring injury and Arsene Wenger has already made it clear that he has reservations over whether or not Sanchez will be ready in time.
Reports state, however, that the former Barcelona star has every intention of declaring himself fit to play.
