Kobe Bryant wound back the clock on Thursday as he posterized Clint Capela in the LA Lakers' 87-107 loss to the Houston Rockets.

The 37-year-old was given an open lane to the basket by Trevor Ariza and took full advantage by throwing down the one-handed jam over Capela.

It brought the memories of a young Black Mamba flooding back as his Lakers teammates were stunned. Even Dwight Howard could not quite believe what he was seeing.

And the five-time NBA champion admitted it was one of the "special moments" of his career after everything he had been through in recent years.

"To be able to drive and dunk like that after all my body has been through was one of the special moments of my career."

He suffered a torn Achilles tendon in 2013 then, six games into his comeback, suffered an injury to his knee that ruled him out of the remainder of the 2013-14 season, before another season-ending injury to his rotator cuff a year later.

He said: "How they reacted was pretty much how I was feeling inside. To be able to drive and dunk like that after all my body has been through was one of the special moments of my career.

"My body has been through a lot, so to be able to get to the basket, elevate and finish like that, for me, was personally gratifying.

"It was like it was a reward for all of the hours that I had spent training, working and stretching. It felt good to see that hard work pay off. I was very excited to see them excited."

Kobe was known for his vicious dunking during his early days in the league and won the 1997 Slam Dunk contest as a rookie straight out of High School.

But the 2008 MVP attacking the rim has become a thing of rare beauty and the fans in attendance at the Toyota Center can cherish that memory for a long time.

However, it's always fun to delve into the NBA archives. So we've compiled a list of Bryant's five most vicious dunks throughout his glittering career in the league.
