Louis van Gaal has stormed out of what could be his final pre-match press conference as Manchester United manager.

The under-fire Dutch coach, who has reportedly been given two matches to save his job, said he had received assurances from Ed Woodward, Sir Alex Ferguson and David Gill over his position at Old Trafford.

Van Gaal demanded an apology from the media over the intense speculation surrounding his future and, after just under five minutes, walked out of the press conference.

It’s understood that Van Gaal will be sacked as United boss if he loses to Stoke City at the Britannia Stadium on Boxing Day, with Jose Mourinho waiting in the wings.
