Memphis Depay’s Manchester United career plummeted to new lows on Boxing Day as his comical attempt at a headed back-pass gifted a goal to Stoke City, who went on to beat the Red Devils 2-0 at the Britannia Stadium.
The Netherlands international, who has flattered to deceive at Old Trafford following his £31 million summer move from PSV Eindhoven, was substituted at half-time by the beleaguered Louis van Gaal - the third time this season he has been hooked off during the break following a poor opening 45-minute spell.
Depay’s attitude has been called into question on several occasions since he arrived at United and this latest story will do little to ease supporter fears that the club’s current number seven isn’t concentrating enough on turning his - and his team’s - season around.

Steve Bates in the Sunday People - per the Mirror - claims Depay “shocked management and senior players” this week by turning up to United’s Aon Training Complex in a luxury supercar worth a staggering £240,000.

Memphis surprised his teammates
Depay’s teammates were reportedly surprised to see the youngster turn up to training in such a flashy car, given that he had recently shown signs of adjusting to life as a Premier League footballer following a chat with Ryan Giggs.
The versatile winger, who was torn to shreds on social media after his embarrassing display against the Potters, is understood to have received plenty of banter from his fellow Manchester United stars when he drove into the car park at Carrington.
Fans are already losing faith in Memphis
In order to save his Manchester United career, Depay must focus on his football and avoid the off-field distractions.
His performances, on the whole, haven’t been up to scratch since he joined the Red Devils and a growing number of supporters are already beginning to lose faith in their star summer signing.
