Real Madrid president Florentino Perez is ‘obsessed’ with the idea of signing Barcelona superstar Neymar and has approached the Brazilian forward’s father on several occasions in an attempt to arrange a meeting.
This is according to Catalan newspaper Sport, who understand Neymar and his father have no intention of listening to Perez.
The Real Madrid chief, still hurt by his failure to secure the player’s signature back in 2011, wants Neymar to follow in the footsteps of Luis Figo by leaving the Camp Nou for the Bernabeu.

As well as offering Neymar huge money to leave Barcelona, Perez would also attempt to lure the South American to Madrid by offering him the opportunity to become the main man at arguably the biggest football club on the planet.
Perez’s new sporting project does not involve either Rafael Benitez - Jose Mourinho has already been offered the chance to replace the under-fire Spanish coach - or star man Cristiano Ronaldo.
Neymar isn't motivated by money and is flourishing at Barça
That Neymar’s career decisions up until now have not been motivated solely by money, however, means there is very little chance of Perez getting his man.
Neymar is more than content at the Camp Nou and is expected to put pen-to-paper on an improved contract over the coming months.
The 23-year-old has only been at Barcelona for two-and-a-half seasons but has already won multiple trophies including a historic treble last term. He is also expected to pip Ronaldo to second place behind Lionel Messi in the voting for the 2015 Ballon d’Or next month.
Neymar has exceeded expectations at Barcelona and when you consider how high expectations were that’s an impressive achievement.
The Brazil international is a member of arguably the best attacking trio ever assembled - alongside his teammate Luis Suarez and football idol, Messi - and leaving everything behind at Barcelona for more money at Real Madrid would surely make very little sense for the player.
