April 2016 is set to be an exciting month for the WWE as nd the Universe as a whole.

Not only will we see WrestleMania 32 take place at the AT&T Stadium in Dallas but NXT TakeOver: Dallas takes place just two nights prior.

It’s set to be a huge month of wrestling with fans already beginning to speculate the top matches that could take place at WrestleMania. However, early plans are also being made for TakeOver and it’s clear Triple H will want to make a statement and leave a long-lasting impact in Dallas.

TAKEOVER: DALLAS

2015 has been a great year for the stars of NXT as they put on some incredible matches, feuds and even held TakeOver events in Brooklyn and the United Kingdom – highlighting the rapid growth of the brand.

TakeOver: Dallas should be one of the biggest special events in NXT history because it’s so close to WrestleMania and fans will be talking about NXT at The Grandest Stage of All.

Obviously, plans can and probably will change in the coming months but early reports indicate that Finn Balor will still be the NXT Champion and won’t be on the main roster in April. That could change afterwards, though.

FINN BALOR VS. SAMI ZAYN

WrestlingRumors are reporting that the main event of TakeOver is scheduled to be an NXT Championship match between Finn Balor and Sami Zayn.

Balor retained his NXT Championship against Samoa Joe in London earlier this month to close off a successful 2015 and by the time April comes around he should have a couple more title defences under his belt.

Also, in London, we saw Baron Corbin defeat Apollo Crews with what many were dubbing a title eliminator, so it looks as if Corbin will be chasing the championship in the coming months. A main roster debut, meanwhile, has been rumoured to take place at the Royal Rumble for Crews.

This means Corbin will be challenging Balor in the coming months and will fail in his attempt to become the champion as Balor will advance to TakeOver to defend the championship.

It’s been a frustrating year for Zayn who endured a shoulder injury just as he was about to hit the main roster, so if these plans come into fruition then it doesn’t look as if they’ll rush his push to the main roster.

TAG TEAM ACTION

The other match which is being planned for TakeOver is an NXT Tag Team Championship encounter where Dash and Dawson will defend the gold against the popular team of Jason Jordan and Chad Gable.

This means Dash and Dawson are going to have a lengthy reign, unlike The Lucha Dragons and The Vaudevillians, and that’s a fantastic way to build them up as a star tag team.

2016 is expected to be a huge year for Jordan and Gable as their popularity continues to go through the roof, so a championship win will definitely be on the cards. They have enough time to impress and they will be ready for April when all eyes are on them.

Although these are early plans it will be interesting to see the status of Bayley in the coming months, with the likes of Nia Jax and Asuka chasing her NXT Women’s Championship so expect them to be in action as well.
