NXT TakeOver: Rival boasted a card packed with talent, yet it was the four horsewomen that stole the show. Fan of NXT already knew how talented they were but this match was the real breakout moment for them, and it showed they were more than ready for the big time.
You can’t even fault anything from the match, there were fantastic spots with hardly any errors and from start to finish, the loyal fans were invested into the match. Now you can see why the WWE Universe was so excited when Charlotte, Sasha and Becky arrived on the main roster.

They picked a great winner as well in Sasha and although the match was just over 12 minutes, it certainly didn’t feel that way as they told a story with plenty of emotion. It’s a match that will be talked about for a very long time.
#4: BROCK LESNAR VS. ROMAN REIGNS – WWE WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP (WRESTLEMANIA 31)
By no means was this a technical masterclass – but that doesn’t mean it wasn’t a brilliant match because we saw punishment dished out by both men.
It was Lesnar who brutalised Reigns for most of the match before the challenger fought back and neither man was refusing to stay down. It’s not something we usually expected from a WrestleMania main event, and that’s what made it so fresh and kept fans interested.
The main reason this match was one of the best of 2015 was because of the heist of the century, Seth Rollins cashing in to walk out as the new champion. It’s not something we thought the WWE would do at such a massive event and it even looked as if Rollins was going to lose. It was a risk that paid off brilliantly and another which will live long in the memory.
#3: JOHN CENA VS. KEVIN OWENS (ELIMINATION CHAMBER)
This match was always going to be exciting because of the manner Kevin Owens arrived on the main roster. For weeks, superstar after superstar was coming down to the ring to answer John Cena’s United States Open Challenge, yet Owens had other plans.
It was a huge moment for Owens as he hit a Pop-Up Powerbomb on Cena on his first night on Raw and he certainly left a big impact, already adding pressure to his first match on the main roster.
We knew Owens had so much to prove, and both men gave it their all in an epic battle. He looked confident, and his style was perfect as a heel but it came as an even bigger shock when Owens defeating Cena clean in the middle of the ring in his very first match on the main roster.
It was a surprise; it was memorable and it was helped by the fact that the match itself was fantastic.
#2: SASHA BANKS VS. BAYLEY – NXT WOMEN’S CHAMPIONSHIP (NXT TAKEOVER: BROOKLYN)
There was a lot of pressure on the stars of NXT heading into this TakeOver as it was the first time it was being held outside of Full Sail University, yet Bayley and Sasha stole the show in an epic encounter on a successful night.
Sasha was enjoying a great reign as champion and didn’t look as if anybody could beat her while Bayley was continuing as a fan favourite who wanted to reach the top. The match had everything we expected from the two and the crowd played a huge part in the match going down as a success.
The moment with the four amazing stars at the end was a fantastic conclusion to their time on NXT before three of them moved up to the main roster.
#1: BROCK LESNAR VS. JOHN CENA VS. SETH ROLLINS – WWE WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP TRIPLE THREAT (ROYAL RUMBLE)
It’s clear that the majority of fans believe the triple threat match at the Royal Rumble is the best match to take place in 2015, fighting off almost an entire year of competition to cement itself as the greatest.
Rollins played an interesting role in this match as there was always a doubt at the back of the mind that maybe he could just pull out with a huge surprise and defeat the opposition. For a while, it seemed that way as well when he broke Lesnar’s rib and continued to come closer and closer to the win, in the end, it was The Beast that prevailed.
He fought off the competition like only he can and the final F5 just topped off a brutal match where anybody could have really won.
