Chelsea have a new relegation worry to consider - it's big

Published Add your comment

The message from Stamford Bridge was clear when they parted ways with Jose Mourinho earlier this month: the prospect of relegation seems to be a genuine fear amongst the powers that be. Well, if you’re one of the pessimists associated with the club you’ll be none too happy to hear that there’s another problem brewing behind the scenes regarding Chelsea potentially facing the drop. Apparently none of the players have relegation clauses in their contracts, unlike nearly every other club, meaning if the Blues do go down there could be added trouble on the financial side of things. Meanwhile, Radamel Falcao has suffered another injury setback in his recovery from a thigh problem and will be out until mid-January. Interim Blues boss Guus Hiddink confirmed the news, stating that ‘it was back to square one’.
