Javier Hernandez wins consecutive Player of the Month awards in Germany

Javier Hernandez just can't stop scoring for Bayer Leverkusen. Chicharito has fired 11 goals in 14 league games for the Bundesliga outfit as he continues to enjoy life after Manchester United.

The Red Devils' lack of firepower has been well documented and recognised strikers Wayne Rooney and Anthony Martial have managed just six goals in the Premier League this season. 

But while his former side continues to struggle, Hernandez is thoroughly enjoying his time at the Bay Arena and scooped his second successive Player of the Month award after scoring five in just three league matches, including a hat-trick in the 5-0 rout of Borussia Monchengladbach.

His latest award provides further fuel to the fire for those who are unhappy with Louis van Gaal's reign at Old Trafford. 

The Dutchman's decision to allow so much attacking potency to leave Old Trafford since his arrival has had a huge influence on the Red Devils' current predicament.

According to reports, the powers that be at United have sanctioned a spending spree in the transfer window following the club's worst December in history. But is Van Gaal really the right manager to be entrusted with more money?

He has spent in excess of £250 million since arriving in the north-west and it could be argued the club have taken a step backwards. 

A new striker could be ushered in during the window, but Hernandez is proving he could have been the answer to their problems. 

It was simply a matter of confidence for 'Little Pea'. All he needed was an arm around the shoulder, instead, he was given the cold shoulder.
