The New York Jets have had a great season. Currently on a 10-5 record, their fate this season is in their hands. Win their final game of the regular season this Sunday against their divisional rivals the Buffalo Bills and they're in the playoffs.
Recognition towards the Jets players for their efforts this season are already being handed out, as the team named the winners of their season awards and announced wide receiver Brandon Marshall as the team's most valuable player, according to Pro Football Talk.
However, despite having 101 catches and 13 touchdowns, some fans joked and said he shouldn't have won the award. They instead suggested a former Jets player, and current Bills defensive end IK Enemkpali should have been given the honor for a rather funny reason.

If you remember back to the summer, Enemkpali was released from the Jets for punching starting quarterback (at the time) Geno Smith in the face. Ryan Fitzpatrick stepped up under center and has since led the team to a 10-5 and one win away from the playoffs.
You can now see why some Jets fans want Enemkpali to be their MVP this season.
The defensive end said, according to Buffalo News, when he heard of the MVP suggestion joke: “Nobody knows if what I had done was going to deter whether Geno was going to play or not. Nobody knows that exactly.
"In the league, it’s next man up. I mean, the Jets’ fans — I was up there for a year — they’re crazy. They say anything and they have no filter at all. So I’m not surprised.”
Ultimately, if Enemkpali's Bills stops the Jets from reaching the playoffs by winning on Sunday, he'll have the last laugh, but in either scoreline outcome, he still might be shown appreciation by Jets fans as they see him as the catalyst behind their great season.
