Valencia hold Real Madrid to 2-2 draw

Gary Neville's Valencia produced a spirited performance to secure a 2-2 draw against Real Madrid on Sunday evening.

Neville, who is still awaiting his first La Liga win as Valencia boss, watched on as his side fell behind after just 16 minutes after a fine move involving Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema. 

Ronaldo, Neville's former Manchester United teammate, produced a fine no look pass to assist Benzema, who slotted home in style.

Dani Parejo equalised from the penalty spot and things got even better for Neville and Co. as Real's Mateo Kovacic was sent off following a poor challenge. 

Despite being a man down, Rafa Benitez's side went back in front with just nine minutes remaining as Gareth Bale headed home.

Late drama

But Valencia, who have an incredible home record in Spain's elite division, managed to secure a point thanks to a late goal from Paco Alcacer. 

Incredibly, both Alvaro Negredo of Valencia and Bale of Real Madrid could have won the game in stoppage time, but spoils were shared on this occasion.
