Paul Pogba believes Juventus have a player with the potential to reach the same level as Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi - arguably the best footballer of all time.
Pogba was referring to Paulo Dybala who, like Messi, is a skilful Argentina international on the slightly diminutive side. The 22-year-old has made a big impact since joining the Old Lady in a €32 million deal from Palermo last summer, scoring 10 goals in his first 24 appearances for the Italian giants.
And Pogba, a future Ballon d’Or contender himself, is convinced Dybala can reach the very top of his profession - describing the South American as a “phenomenon”.

“He can get there,” Pogba was quoted as telling La Stampa by the Daily Mail when asked if Dybala can emulate Messi. “Do you know what I call him? Square R2, the button that you have to push on a PlayStation to do a shot on the turn -- he always gets goals like that.
“Has he surprised me? No, because I always said he was a phenomenon. To do what he has done, playing for Juve, is something phenomenal.”
Dybala unlikely to reach Messi's level
While Dybala is clearly a huge talent, Pogba’s suggestion that the forward could reach the same level as Messi is fanciful to say the least.
At 22, Messi was widely regarded as the best footballer on the planet and had already won his first Ballon d’Or.
Six years later and the Barcelona icon is on the brink of winning a record-breaking fifth Ballon d’Or award following another remarkable 12 months.
But it will be interesting to see just how good Dybala will become over the forthcoming seasons.
