Jim Tomsula's dismissal as the head coach of the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday didn't come as a surprise to many people.
After struggling to overcome numerous on and off-field setbacks during the 2015 campaign on route to a 5-11 record, the 47-year-old had looked like a one-and-done candidate for some time.
With that in mind, many people likely had a pre-prepared response for when the axe was finally wielded. But was Jim Harbaugh, the 49ers' head coach before Tomsula, one of them? A less-than-friendly cryptic tweet sent out on Sunday evening certainly looks that way.

The now University of Michigan head coach posted the following 'warning' to his official account yesterday:
Tomsula worked as the 49ers' defensive line coach during Harbaugh's reign and, back when he was hired as his replacement, there was speculation that he'd gone behind Harbaugh's back to get the top job.
Considering how his own departure played out, Harbaugh's tough words could also be seen as a shot at the 49ers hierarchy as a whole for how they've acted over the past 12 months or so.
Not so subtle
Whilst Harbaugh's tweet doesn't specifically mention the fired head coach or even the San Francisco franchise, there certainly appears to be an element of the subtweet about the timing of it all.
A fact many on Twitter have already eluded to:
Whether or not Harbaugh was firing shots at the franchise or Tomsula, there is no escaping that this won't be the last criticism heading in the direction of the Bay Area.
With the 49ers searching for their third coach in as many years and facing question marks over their supposed franchise quarterback, there are likely some tough times ahead.
