There are rumors today that the WWE are on the verge of signing no less than four big name stars from the world of independent wrestling.
As reported earlier, AJ Styles, Shinsuke Nakamura, Doc Gallows and Karl Anderson are all apparently close to joining the organization.
As you might expect, there has been speculation since as to just how the WWE will incorporate the indie talent into the company. Now, thanks to Wrestling Observer's Dave Meltzer, we might just have the answer - and it involves that popular event at the end of January.

According to Meltzer, via What Culture, the WWE is planning on signing Styles, Gallows and co. to main roster deals from the outset, allowing the quartet to skip the NXT environment.
The sight of new blood on the main roster is always exciting for the WWE Universe, and Meltzer claims WWE could be taking things up another level by planning to unleash the four stars onto the main roster as surprise entrants in the 2016 Royal Rumble.
Perhaps even more exciting for those fans of the NXT brand, Styles and the New Japan trio could be joined in making the main roster jump by Finn Balor.
This, again according to Meltzer, is part of a hypothesis that would see all five wrestlers join up in a 'Balor Club' angle.
The 2016 Royal Rumble on January 24 already has 10 confirmed competitors following the eight-man announcement on this week's Raw.
Adding these five intriguing names to the chaos, as surprise entrants or pre-event announcements, will only add to the excitement surrounding one of the WWE's most popular nights of the year.
