Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is in talks with former club Borussia Dortmund over the possible signing of defender Neven Subotic.
This has been reported by the Mirror, who claim that Klopp is hoping to bring Subotic to Anfield in an attempt to strengthen his injury-stricken back-line.
Klopp is currently without a fully fit first-team defender after Dejan Lovren and Kolo Toure picked up hamstring injuries during the Reds' Capital One Cup semi-final first-leg 1-0 win against Stoke City on Tuesday.

Martin Skrtel and Mamadou Sakho are also out on the sidelines, leaving Klopp with something to think about ahead of his side's FA Cup third-round clash against Exeter City on Friday evening.
Subotic, then, appears to be on Klopp's radar while the same report from the Mirror claims that the charismatic coach is hoping to bring in an experienced centre-back on loan sooner rather than later.
But will Liverpool really be able to lure Subotic to Merseyside? It's not going to be easy, of course; Subotic may well be struggling to secure a place in Thomas Tuchel's side right now, but he's still held in high regard at Signal Iduna Park.
At 27-years-old, the towering defender should be entering the prime of his career, but he's having a difficult time of it. In fact, he has only made two league appearances for the club this season, so you can hardly blame Klopp for making his move.
Liverpool are in desperate need of defensive reinforcements and Subotic would be the ideal fit.
