Mesut Ozil has had his fair share of stick from well-known pundits in England since joining Arsenal in the summer of 2013 - but the Germany international has made his critics eat their words this season.
Ozil leads the assists charts with a remarkable 16 in the first half of the campaign - he only needs another five more to break Thierry Henry’s record - and is a serious contender at this stage to win the PFA’s Premier League Player of the Year award.
Former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher is among the group of pundits who has criticised Ozil at various points over the past two-and-a-half years - and for good reason, it must be said, at times - but the Arsenal star got his own back in a question-and-answer session on Twitter on Friday afternoon. Ozil was asked what he likes most about living in England, to which he replied: “Football passion, fairplay on the stands, British humour and Jamie Carragher on TV 😁😉😉 #AskOzil”

Ozil's comments on Flamini
By far and away Ozil’s most popular tweets, however, were his humorous comments about his Arsenal teammate Mathieu Flamini.
Ozil was asked whether he preferred Cristiano Ronaldo or Lionel Messi, to which he replied: “Flamini!!! 😉👍😅 #AskMesut”
He was then asked who will win the 2015 FIFA Ballon d’Or, to which he said: “Is #Flamini nominated? 😉”
