Marko Grujic: Klopp wanted me in Liverpool team

Published Add your comment

So, Marko Grujic finally officially became a Liverpool player last week, shortly before heading straight back to Red Star Belgrade, where he’ll remain for the rest of the season. The player himself though has now revealed that Jurgen Klopp wanted him to join his first-team squad straight away, only for Grujic to decline as he wants a title with Red Star. Liverpool are in the midst of an injury crisis, so it’s true they could have done with him. It appears loyalty does still mean something, however. Meanwhile, adding insult to literal injury, reports claim the Reds have recalled goalkeeper Danny Ward from a loan spell with Aberdeen as Simon Mignolet has picked up a knock. Number two Adam Bogdan isn’t reliable, but Ward is relatively untested. Not good in the slightest.
