LeBron James scored a joint season-best 37 points to lead the Cleveland Cavaliers to a 95-85 win over the Philadelphia 76ers.

The LA Clippers made it nine in a row, but they needed overtime to beat the New Orleans Pelicans 114-111.

Chris Paul scored 25 points, with 11 assists, making light of top scorer Anthony Davis' absence with a back injury.

The Dallas Mavericks relied on veteran Dirk Nowitzki to beat the Minnesota Timberwolves 93-87.

The 37-year-old scored 29 points and grabbed a key loose ball at the end to ensure the win.

"Classic Dirk. Hitting shots from everywhere, making big shots, big plays. That's why he's one of the greatest," team-mate Deron Williams said.

The Memphis Grizzlies fought back from a 21-point deficit to beat the Boston Celtics 101-98, Corey Brewer scored the go-ahead three-pointer for the Houston Rockets to beat the Indiana Pacers 107-103, while the New York Knicks beat the Milwaukee Bucks 100-88.

The Charlotte Hornets' misery continues with a seventh straight defeat, going down 95-92 at the Denver Nuggets, the Portland Trail Blazers overcame a deficit to win 115-110 at the Oklahoma City Thunder and the Utah Jazz beat the LA Lakers 86-74.
