Manchester United produced one of their finest attacking displays of the season against Newcastle United on Tuesday night but they failed to leave St James' Park with all three points.
Despite a brace from captain Wayne Rooney and a fine goal from Jesse Lingard, the Red Devils could only manage a 3-3 draw against Steve McClaren's side.
Ultimately, despite the excitement, Louis van Gaal's team threw away two priceless points. But it could - and probably should - have been different for United. They had two golden opportunities to extend their lead during proceedings.

Lingard really should have put the game out of sight while Belgium international Marouane Fellaini missed a glorious opportunity to put the game to bed in the final few minutes. Fellaini's late miss cost United as Paul Dummett smashed home a late equaliser.
Fellaini, then, came in for criticism for the miss while his all-round performance was also scrutinised. United fans certainly weren't happy with the Belgium international, who has flattered to deceive throughout his stint in Manchester.
Here's the reaction on social media:
Not good enough
Van Gaal's side have to find the right balance; United fans will be relieved that their side put in a fine attacking performance - the Red Devils looked like the team of old at times - but they were vulnerable at the back.
Ultimately, it's just not good enough; if the Old Trafford side are going to secure a place in the top four then they have to beat teams near the bottom of the Premier League. A huge game against Liverpool awaits.
