Weeks of speculation has now ended as the UFC have confirmed a co-main event for UFC 197 on March 5 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
UFC has confirmed Conor McGregor will challenge Rafael dos Anjos for the UFC Lightweight Championship, and UFC Women's Bantamweight Champion Holly Holm will defend her title for the first time against second-ranked Miesha Tate as well.
The current UFC Featherweight Champion will look to make history at the event when he faces the Brazilian Lightweight Champion for the 155-pound title, as he could become the first fighter in ever to hold UFC world titles in two different weight classes at the same time.

McGregor won the Featherweight Championship from Jose Aldo in just 13 seconds at last month's UFC 194 event, the quickest title fight knockout in UFC history, and ended Aldo's six-year reign as champion.
In true McGregor fashion, he has already taken a swipe at his opponent on Instagram, saying: “This McGregor Inc. executive business decision is brought to you by the King himself in association with EA Sports. 'McGregor is the Game.' Mr. McGregor would like to thank the fans and the media for their patience in this decision. Mr. McGregor was still busy counting the take from his last fight.
"He has chosen to dedicate this demolition job to the loyal people of Brazil and all the fans around the globe who stay true to their roots and loyal to their land. Mr. McGregor has said that Rafael is a traitor to his people and vows to "behead the 'American Gringo' Rafael Dos Anjos, in the name of La Brasilia!"
The reason why McGregor is calling dos Anjos a traitor is because he lives and trains in California, despite being Brazilian, whereas the Irish champion trains often in the United States, but lives in Dublin, Ireland.
However, the Brazilian isn't a fighter to be taken lightly, as he successfully defended his title at the event 'UFC on Fox: dos Anjos vs. Cerrone 2', with a 66-second knockout against Donald Cerrone.
Holm will take on Tate in the co-main event as well. This is the first time the undefeated champion will defend her title since she knocked out the then-undefeated Ronda Rousey in spectacular fashion at UFC 193.
