Fresh from announcing that he and his wife are getting a divorce, Gary Lineker was back on our television screens on Wednesday night. 

With goals aplenty in the Premier League, Linekar brought the devoted Match of the Day following quite the show. 

Despite some classic matches - including Liverpool's 3-3 draw against table-toppers Arsenal and Sunderland's crucial 4-2 win at Swansea - one slightly controversial, yet brilliant, joke from the former England international stole the show.

Responding to Alan Shearer's comments about Newcastle defender Chancel Mbemba having to make himself bigger with his hands after conceding a penalty against Manchester United, Lineker stated: "Well we've all done that with our hands".

Ah, yes, it's another solo goal from Lineker. Well, while Shearer and ex-Liverpool man Dietmar Hamann found it amusing, Twitter reacted indifferently. 

Some loved the comical moment while others weren't so sure...
