Arsenal have managed to poach one of the main men responsible for unearthing the swathe of talent to have arrived at Leicester City in the past few years.

Ben Wrigglesworth is a highly-rated technical scout responsible for bringing Riyad Mahrez and N'Golo Kante amongst others to the King Power Stadium.

According to the Telegraph, his impressive record caught the attention of the Gunners, who have now been successful in poaching him from the club that joins them at the top of the Premier League.

Having experienced tremendous success in the first half of the current season, Leicester fans had been left fearing the worst with regards to their biggest stars.

Indeed, Jamie Vardy, Mahrez, and Kante had all been linked with January moves to the so-called elite clubs, but, so far, the Foxes have kept hold of their biggest names. However, their scouting team, who have played a huge role in their success, are being effectively targetted.

By joining Arsenal, Wrigglesworth became the second prominent name to leave in the last 12 months. He follows Rob Mackenzie, who joined Tottenham as head of player identification last February.

Another target

Intent on revamping their recruitment team, Arsenal have also enquired after Leicester's head honcho Steve Walsh, who is believed to have originally located Mahrez and Vardy. However, Walsh has a significant release clause in his contract of over £1m.

While Arsenal would not hesitate to invest such funds in a player, it becomes harder to envisage them forking out such a sum for one member in a large backroom team. It is reported that Walsh is focused on the job at hand in Leicester and is already drawing up a list of summer targets.
