Liverpool have £8m bid for Shane Long rejected

As we enter the last ten days or so of the transfer window you can prepare for some absolute humdingers with regards to rumours in the Premier League. One of the latest sees Liverpool linked with Southampton’s Shane Long, with papers saying the Reds made a bid for the Irishman worth £8million. It’s also claimed that the Saints turned them down even though they’ve only recently signed Charlie Austin. Let us know what you think of that speculation in the comments box. Meanwhile, Brendan Rodgers has revealed the Liverpool board wanted him to develop Mario Balotelli when the Italian was signed in 2014. The former Reds boss admitted he had wanted to sign Alexis Sanchez as Luis Suarez’s replacement - that, of course, didn’t happen.
