Carolina Panthers stars banned from using hoverboards after drag racing

The Carolina Panthers look like a team who have fun when they're on the football field.

With Cam Newton always smiling and the defense dominating absolutely everybody they face, the Panthers, their 15-1 regular season record and demolition of the Seattle Seahawks can probably afford to walk around with a fair bit of swagger.

Well, they'll have to walk now after being banned from using hoverboards.

Speaking to the media on Monday following the Panthers victory over Seattle and advancement to the NFC Championship Game, head coach Ron Rivera revealed that he has banned his players from using the two-wheelers.

The reason why players have been stopped from using them? Drag racing.

Yep, Panthers players were actually drag racing each other on the hoverboards and Rivera seemed pretty annoyed about it. And rightly so.

To be fair, it is far too easy for even the best of us to fall off a hoverboard - just ask Mike Tyson. And at such a critical point of their season, the Panthers are not taking any risks whatsoever.
