One of the biggest talking points heading towards WrestleMania 32 surrounds the potential opponent for Brock Lesnar.

The Beast slayed The Undertaker once and for all at Hell in a Cell and since then fans have been left to wonder who his next big challenge will be.

The most prominent name that continues to pop up is current WWE World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns. Reigns is defending the title in the Royal Rumble match this Sunday, and many believe the two are destined to meet again – a year after they clashed at WrestleMania 31.

LESNAR TARGETING THE GOLD

However, with a controversial angle planned for the finish of the Royal Rumble along with the rumours that Reigns is set to take on Triple H at WrestleMania; it doesn’t look as if Lesnar and Reigns will be going one on one at WrestleMania this year.

One of the names that has been mentioned as a potential opponent for Lesnar is former Intercontinental Champion Kevin Owens but judging by the latest updates provided by The Inquisitr, it looks as if Lesnar could be facing a surprising opponent in the form of Chris Jericho.

Over the last couple of weeks, rumours have been circulating online that Jericho is set to work through WrestleMania 32, so he’s expected to be in a big match. Not only that, but he’s also expected to turn heel and was widely expected to challenge Dean Ambrose for the Intercontinental Championship.

JERICHO HEEL TURN?

A feud with Ambrose does make sense, he was revealed as the mystery partner of Reigns and Ambrose at Night of Champions and we saw some tension build between the pair in a losing effort, so it would be nice to see that story continue.

A potential WrestleMania clash between Jericho and Lesnar it’s such a bad idea. It’s a different type of match that fans wouldn’t have expected and despite not being a physical test for Lesnar, the technicality Jericho brings to this clash makes it interesting.

Along with the fact that as a heel, Jericho can be as conniving as they come.

The good thing is both men are scheduled to continue through WrestleMania which means if the feud gets the green light, we could get a lengthy build towards this match and with Paul Heyman involved – it could and should be gold.

MATCHING SCHEDULES

Reigns isn’t totally out of the equation just yet, last week on Monday Night Raw we saw Lesnar run riot by taking out a ring full of superstars before taking out Reigns with an F5, which meant a rematch of WrestleMania 32 could be on the cards this year.

However, according to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer, a WrestleMania rematch is expected to take place, but not until after this year’s WrestleMania.

If that’s true, it frees up Lesnar to take on Jericho, and they’re not exactly strangers either.

Along with a Highlight Reel appearance, this week which could be a way to plant the seeds, Jericho was attacked by Lesnar in December 2014, and we know that Jericho will only want to take on a top talent, and not face another Fandango at such a prestigious event.
