There’s been some umming and aahing but Nacho Monreal has finally put pen to paper on a new deal with Arsenal. The 29-year-old signed a new long-term contracr in north London, ending speculation that had suggested he might make a return to Spain. The full-back said the trust from the fans was really important and hailed his relationship with Arsene Wenger, citing those two reasons as being key in him extending his stay. Elsewhere, Gunners legend Freddie Ljungberg has returned to Arsenal in order to move forward with acquiring his coaching badges. Apparently the Swede is to coach the club’s U15s as he aims to get the relevant UEFA badges - remember, Thierry Henry is at the Emirates for something similar.
