So, when Manchester United’s Michael Carrick took to Twitter to inform his 1.5 million followers that he had just missed his train, he should have expected to be trolled.
And trolled he was.

Here is Carrick’s tweet showing his frustration that he would now have to wait another hour for his next train:
The inevitable mocking didn’t take long with many United fans taking the opportunity to mention the 34-year-old’s lack of pace.

As the abuse poured in, Carrick took to Twitter again (well, he did have an hour to kill) to tell his followers that he wasn’t too impressed with the replies he’d received!
Carrick is currently injured but joined teammates Marcus Rojo and Phil Jones in the away end at Anfield last weekend to watch Wayne Rooney gives Louis van Gaal’s men all three points.
