Aston Villa have reportedly been offered the chance to sign Nemanja Vidic on a free transfer.
According to the Daily Mail, the former Manchester United captain is keen on a return to the Premier League, following the termination of his contract at Inter Milan by mutual consent.
With Villa struggling at the bottom of the table - they are six points adrift of Sunderland in 19th - manager Remi Garde is looking for reinforcements and may be tempted by Vidic's leadership and extensive experience of the Premier League.

What's happened to Vidic?
The Serbian announced mid-way through the 2013/14 season that he would be leaving Old Trafford for Inter Milan that summer.
In a move that typified the lack of cohesion at United during David Moyes's brief tenure, Vidic brought an end to his eight years at Old Trafford.
The 34-year-old's career in Serie A began disastrously - he was sent off for sarcastically clapping the referee in a game against Torino - and has never really picked up with Inter manager Roberto Mancini deeming him dispensable.
Could he help Villa?
It's hard to tell. In his prime Vidic was one of the most dominant centre-backs in the Premier League, with his partnership alongside Rio Ferdinand forming the cornerstone of much of United's later success under Sir Alex Ferguson.
At 34 with an extensive injury record and having not played a competitive match since May, Vidic is undoubtedly not the player he once was but may still prove a useful acquisition.
Under former manager Tim Sherwood Villa spent close to £50 million in the summer; however, aside from Joleon Lescott, none of the acquired players had any Premier League experience.
Survival in a relegation battle requires experience and whereas Sunderland can call on the likes of John O'Shea and Wes Brown, Villa have looked desperately short of leadership so far this season.
In all likelihood, Villa Park will be playing host to Championship football next season regardless of who Garde manages to bring in, but with his stature and presence, Vidic may be the Frenchman's best available bet.
