Most of you young people won't know who Luis Boa Morte is, but to those of us on the wrong side of 25, he was a rather elegant Premier League star plying his trade for the likes of Arsenal, West Ham and Fulham. Yes, Fulham were once in the top division. Jeez.
Now, his job is to spot the stars of tomorrow. He acts as a scout for Sporting Lisbon but also does some freelance work for his former manager Arsene Wenger. And, as the Frenchman continues his never-ending search for new talent, he has called upon Boa Morte to scout a very special youngster.
According to The Sun, Boa Morte has been asked to file a report on Benfica's rising star Goncalo Guedes, who has been tipped to succeed Cristiano Ronaldo in Portugal's national team.

Boa Morte certainly would not have seen that comparison in the game he was present at. Guedes was whipped off at half-time after a drab performance. Benfica barely managed to beat second division side Oriental Lisboa 1-0.
But Wenger's interest in the flying winger would have been undeterred and Boa Morte will be back in the stands in the near future. Arsenal fans shouldn't expect to see him at the Emirates any time soon, however, as a January deal looks less than likely.
Not missing out
Wenger will be aware that he failed to take advantage the last time a prodigious talent came out of Portugal. The Gunners boss has openly admitted he came close to signing Ronaldo as a teenager, but just couldn't get the deal over the line.
He once said: “My biggest regret? I was so close to signing Cristiano Ronaldo.
“And not only did I not get him but he signed for Manchester United. So that, of course, still hurts today.”
Guedes, although very talented, has so much work ahead of him if he is to even become half as good as his compatriot, but he's gone the right way about it thus far. Take a look at his best bits in the embedded video below.
