The Manchester United hierarchy are worried that Ryan Giggs will quit the club if he's not offered the opportunity to replace Louis van Gaal.
As reported by the Mirror, it has been suggested that if Van Gaal walks away from Old Trafford, then Giggs could follow him out the door if he's not handed the opportunity to become the club's next manager.
Giggs, alongside former Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho, is the currently favourite to secure the position but it's far from certain as to whether Van Gaal will depart the club at this stage.

The Dutchman's future in Manchester has been long debated - the Red Devils were dumped out of the Champions League at the group stage while they're currently sitting in fifth position in the Premier League - so it's not entirely surprising that rumours regarding the future of Giggs have also surfaced recently.
The Welshman, who enjoyed a remarkable playing career at United, was handed the top job on a temporary basis after David Moyes was sacked - he won two of his four games in charge of the club - but resumed his role as No.2 when Van Gaal arrived at Old Trafford in the summer of 2014.
The hierarchy are clearly in a tricky position; has Giggs really got what it takes to lead Manchester United to success? He has been learning his trade, of course, but it's not going to be easy for him to slot in as the club's leading man.
He knows United inside out and will most definitely have his own ideas, so perhaps it could be a risk worth taking for club officials.
