The New England Patriots, in losing the AFC title game to the Denver Broncos last weekend, fell one game short of reaching the Super Bowl for the second straight season.
With the 2015 season now over for the Pats, their quarterback Tom Brady has been reflecting on the campaign in the form of a hand-written letter.
Taking to his official Facebook account, Brady passed on his thoughts on the year - thanking the "incredible support" whilst championing the team's determined efforts.

For those struggling to decipher the 38-year-old's handwriting, this is what he had to say:
"Thank you to all of our fans for the incredible support you gave us this season. I'm proud to call New England my home and to have the privilege of playing for your team.
"Our team fought hard all year, right down to the final play. I'm proud of the effort we all put in to prepare each game as if it were our last. We never quit nor lost sight of what we were playing for. It's rare to have the honor of being on a team like that.
"It takes a lot of hard work and commitment to get as far as we did. Our goal every season is to win the last game, but as I've learned, the road to the next one is paved by seasons like this one!
Rising to the challenge
For Brady, the 2015 season was something of an up and down campaign.
It began with accusations of cheating and a looming four-game suspension, yet ended with the four-time champion moments away from another Super Bowl appearance.
People might dismiss these types of letters from other players, but you know when Brady talks of using this year's disappointment to fuel the Patriots' 2016 season he is deadly serious.
