Detroit Lions' Calvin Johnson set to retire

Published 1 Comments

There hasn’t been any official announcement just yet, but Calvin Johnson has reportedly told sources that he is going to retire. The Detroit Lions wide receiver has apparently spoken to both his family and head coach Jim Caldwell - ESPN’s Adam Schefter is the one spreading that news. If it is the end for Johnson it’s fair to assume most of the league’s cornerbacks will be breathing a sigh of relief - at the moment though it’s also speculated that the Lions want to keep him for another season. Moving on, Tyler Ifert looks as though he’s become a casualty of the Pro Bowl after being seen leaving the Aloha Stadium in a walking boot at the weekend. The Bengals tight end is now set to undergo a scan to determine if he’s run into any serious problems, here’s to hoping the boot was simply a precaution.
