UFC president Dana White has claimed Conor McGregor is 'crazy' for wanting to fight Rafael dos Anjos as his next opponent.

McGregor, the current Featherweight world champion, has had to move up a weight classification to Lightweight, in order to set up his record-breaking world title bout with dos Anjos.

Were McGregor to triumph, he would become the first man to simultaneously hold two UFC world titles in two different weight categories.

Speaking on a radio talk show this week, however, White gave his opinion on what is sure to be one of the biggest fights in UFC's history:

"Conor wants to be a two-belt champion, so he wants to fight dos Anjos, which is crazy." the UFC president said when quizzed on McGregor's upcoming fight on March 5th.

"If you look at that guy (dos Anjos), look what he did to Donald Cerrone, look what he did to Ben Henderson, look what he did to Anthony Pettis. And now Conor wants to fight this guy. It's going to be awesome."

McGregor grabbed the headlines in December after his ruthless knock-out of then-world champion Jose Aldo in only 13 seconds. Many had tipped McGregor to struggle against Aldo, with the Brazilian having not lost in 10 years heading into the fight.

After his famous knock-out however, McGregor has maintained his spot in the mainstream media by establishing himself as one of sport's most controversial and divisive figures.

Nicknamed 'The Notorious', McGregor has frequently riled many of his opponent's fans with some of his comments in the build up to the event.

Before his spectacular win over Aldo, McGregor had repeatedly stated that he was going to start the fight fast, and knock his opponent out in the first round, a prediction that proved to be true.

McGregor has also built up a substantial following on social media, where he regularly posts statuses keeping his fans updated on both his lavish lifestyle, as well as his gruelling training sessions.
