Brendan Rodgers has opened up on a meeting that took place between himself and his Liverpool successor recently, with Jurgen Klopp having gone to the Northern Irishman’s house for a bit of an informal chat. Rodgers has revealed that when Klopp was first appointed as Reds boss - pretty much in the immediate aftermath of him having been sacked from the post - the pair talked through matters. One the points raised focused on Christian Benteke, and giving him time to find his feet at Anfield. Say what you like about Rodgers, but you can’t accuse him of not caring. Meanwhile, Jurgen Klopp has admitted he had to refrain himself from applauding Jamie Vardy’s opening goal during the loss to Leicester City last night. Vardy’s volley has garnered appreciation from all over the country, Klopp conceded he was close to clapping his hands. You can see that goal at GiveMeSport.com/Liverpool.
