Manchester United made £30.4m bid for Renato Sanches - Mendes

Published Add your comment

Manchester United made an offer worth over £30million for Benfica starlet Renato Sanches during the January transfer window and were prepared to go higher in pursuit of their man. Portuguese newspaper O Jogo, having supposedly talked to the player’s agent Jorge Mendes, say that Benfica refused as they wanted £45.6m up front, whereas the Red Devils were inclined to pay a portion as bonuses. What that means for the summer transfer window remains to be seen - one thing seems certain though, Van Gaal wants Sanches in his team. Elsewhere, Borussia Dortmund coach Thomas Tuchel has revealed why he thinks Adnan Januzaj’s loan spell in Germany ended - because a part of him remained in Manchester. Tuchel said Januzaj didn’t embrace his new club, instead constantly comparing things to how they were in Manchester.
