This past week on Raw it was announced that at Fastlane we will once again see the matchup of Kalisto vs Alberto Del Rio for the United States Championship.
This will be the sixth time in the space of four months that we have seen this matchup… so how do the WWE make this one special?
It is highly likely that the WWE creative team will be build up this match as an opportunity for Del Rio to try and even the score and enact some revenge on his rival. However, I see it more as an opportunity to give two terrific performers a platform to showcase their talent; putting it simply, book them in 20-minute plus match!

There's no reason now for WWE to take away the championship from Kalisto now after his recent win at the Royal Rumble. The Lucha Dragon is sparking an interest in the Hispanic fan base of the WWE, and could bring similar success of a young Rey Mysterio.
Del Rio was a huge success in AAA and Lucha Underground but has fallen flat since his return back in October’s event Hell in a Cell.

Upon his return, the United States Championship had it's credibility restored through John Cena and his open challenges. Then Del Rio came in and continued the momentum with Zeb Colter by creating the Mex-America movement. This concept was only given less than a month to work before Del Rio dumped Colter to join the League of Nations.
With the League of Nations, Del Rio has become a footnote in the group and less empathise was placed on him and his championship. Therefore, the WWE has done the right thing in giving Kalisto the championship.
Pairing Alberto with the League of Nations and removing Zeb Colter really stunned any momentum that he was creating, but this long feud with Kalisto may be able to get him back on track.
If this feud is continue into WrestleMaina, WWE should add a Luchas de Apuestas stipulation to their match. You could do this for their match at Fastlane, but we have seen this kind of match five times already, so I don’t think a sixth or seventh will hurt if they are given the time to perform.
Would you rather see Kalisto lose his mask or Del Rio lose his Hair, let us know in the comments section.
