Jurgen Klopp makes Alex Teixeira statement after Brazilian's transfer

Published 1 Comments

For the last 30 days it’s looked like Liverpool would be the next club for Brazilian forward Alex Teixeira, but Chinese club Jiangsoo Suning sprang a late surprise last night when they signed him instead. The Shakhtar star will follow former Chelsea man Ramires to the Chinese Super League for £38.4million, leaving Reds fans a little perplexed as to what actually went on. Well, Jurgen Klopp has confronted the speculation, saying that Teixeira has a right to make his own decision and pondering whether England still had the financial clout it once possessed. Elsewhere, Klopp has hit out at suggestions that Daniel Sturridge wants to leave Liverpool this year. The German said he was not getting frustrated with the striker’s injury problems - he wants to ensure the England international remains at Anfield for next season.
