Liverpool are looking into the possibility of signing Cologne defender Jonas Hector in the summer transfer window.
This has been reported by The Sun, who claim that Reds chief Jurgen Klopp is likely to press ahead with a move for the left-back as he looks to strengthen his side in the defensive department.
Hector has racked up 10 caps for Germany over the last couple of years and has secured almost 100 Bundesliga appearances the club since 2012.

As well as being a natural at full-back, the 25-year-old can also star in midfield, so would represent a fine addition for the Merseyside outfit as they go in search of long-term success.
The same report claims that Cologne are hoping for around £10 million for the versatile player's services, but it remains to be seen as to whether the Liverpool hierarchy will pay up in the next transfer window.
The potential arrival of Hector, then, would hand Alberto Moreno increased competition on Merseyside. The Spaniard hasn't exactly been able to establish himself as a leading player for the Reds - he has been far too inconsistent over the course of the last year - so the signing of Hector could help him up his game.
Liverpool fans will be hoping to see Klopp act in the summer. After a largely frustrating January transfer window - the Reds only signed Steven Caulker - surely the club can't rest on their laurels in pursuit of long-term success.
It's clear for all to see that Klopp needs his own squad, but will he be handed the money to stamp his mark on proceedings?
