Leicester City are now favourites to win the Premier League title but their players are refusing to get carried away.

Claudio Ranieri’s calmness has spread through to his playing squad. They know it’s all about taking one game at a time and trying to amass as many points as possible between now and the end of the season. If they start believing they’re favourites, there’s every chance the wheels will fall off.

Subsequently, Jamie Vardy - the star of the show at the King Power Stadium this season - is not ruling any of the hunting pack out from winning the title. Not even Manchester United.

United 12 points behind Leicester in fifth place

Vardy will be pleased to hear that Louis van Gaal’s side are, in fact, 12 points behind his team.

The Red Devils are currently fifth in the table, six points behind fourth-placed Manchester City, and have their work cut out to secure Champions League football for next season.

Manchester United go head-to-head with Leicester on the third-to-last-weekend of the season - a game that could go a long way to deciding whether the Foxes are crowned champions of England and whether Van Gaal’s side are competing in Europe’s premier club competition next season.

It’s hard to imagine United will be in a position to challenge for the title come May - they’ve been so inconsistent this term - but perhaps Vardy is wise not to rule them out until it’s mathematically certain.
