Manchester United defender Matteo Darmian is set for a spell on the sidelines after suffering a dislocated shoulder during the 2-1 loss at Sunderland.
Boss Louis van Gaal confirmed the Italian, who was forced off in the 37th minute at the Stadium of Light, would be out for "several weeks".
The news is a further blow to the Dutchman, who saw his side's hopes of finishing in the top four recede yet further following a seventh Premier League loss of the season.
Darmian, 26, moved to Old Trafford from Torino last summer.
