It was only a few years ago that Manchester United were Barcelona's greatest rivals on the European stage.
Under the guidance of Sir Alex Ferguson, the Red Devils battled the Catalans on a number of occasions between 2008 and 2011.
Now, though, United are nowhere to be seen. Louis van Gaal's current crop at Old Trafford were dumped out of the knockout stages of the Champions League and are set to embark on a Europa League campaign.

In fact, there's a strong possibility that United won't be involved in next season's tournament - they are currently sitting in fifth place in the Premier League table.
Barcelona, on the other hand, are going from strength-to-strength under the guidance of Luis Enrique.
Incredibly, the Camp Nou outfit secured as many as five trophies in 2015 and are on course to emulate last year's success in 2016. Flying high at the top of La Liga, Barca are also firm favourites to eliminate Arsenal in the Champions League Round of 16.
While United are struggling to find an identity, Barcelona are taking over the world of football. So, on Sunday night - a day after United were beaten at the hands of strugglers Sunderland in the Premier League - Barcelona produced yet another mesmerising performance as they thrashed Celta Vigo by six goals to one.
Unsurprisingly, the incredible duo of Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez stole the show. The aforementioned stars combined to score one of the more spectacular penalties you will ever see.
Forget about shooting from the spot; Messi opted to pass the ball forward for Suarez, who converted with ease. Following the penalty, social media went crazy (of course it did) for the brilliant duo.
Man United tweet
But one tweet may well have beaten them all. This is where Manchester United enter the frame. United fan John Ashton described what would have happened if his beloved Red Devils took the penalty.
The tweet received over 11,000 retweets and you can see it for yourself here:
Under the Louis van Gaal philosophy, Manchester United have been criticised time-and-time again for their negative and extremely slow style of play.
Van Gaal's tactics just haven't worked - the Red Devils don't score many goals despite having loads of possession - and United fans are understandably running out of patience.
