A flurry of speculation has surrounded Louis van Gaal's future at Manchester United in recent weeks, with Jose Mourinho's arrival seemingly imminent as a result of the club's poor form.
Whilst it cannot be denied the 'Special One' is an incredibly successful and brilliant manager, not all United fans seem pleased by the thought of the Portuguese taking over at Old Trafford.
In a recent poll involving over 2,000 Red Devils supporters, almost half of them (48%) voted they did not want Mourinho to replace their Dutch manager.

Those who voted against Mourinho opted instead in favour of Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino to take over at the Theatre of Dreams.
This raises the question, then: whilst Mourinho's accomplishments speak for themselves, is he the right man to take over at United?
Assuming he were to adopt his preferred and renowned style of management with a defensive-minded setup and lone striker, certain players would be guaranteed to miss out.
Spanish playmaker Juan Mata would be one of such players, with Mourinho's feelings towards the midfielder clear after selling him to United in 2014. The 27-year-old's potential departure would undoubtedly infuriate fans.
Marouane Fellaini would also likely be axed, though fans wouldn't mind that as much.
Furthermore, there are doubts over whether Mourinho’s philosophies would be the right fit for the Red Devils. His Chelsea sides gone by weren't the most compelling to watch, and whilst they saw much success, United are a side renowned for fast, exciting football - they simply wouldn't match.
It remains to be seen whether Van Gaal will indeed depart and who will succeed him, but United fans should prepare themselves for a summer of goodbyes regardless, because Mourinho’s appointment as manager would likely see a ruthless purge of the current squad.
