It seems that Barrett had become disillusioned with his role in the company and wants to move on to something new.

"Sources close to the situation tell us Barrett recently informed WWE officials of his decision — and we’re told it was due to the wrestler no longer enjoying what he was doing in the company," the report stated.

The Englishman took to Twitter early this morning, seemingly responding to the speculation and all but confirming the rumours.

Another WWE star, Ryback, tweeted after - jokingly claiming some of the moves that Barrett uses in the ring.

Barrett has been out of the ring with a nerve injury in his neck and has been accompanying the League of Nations to the ring while he's not cleared.
