Harry Redknapp’s known for his activity in the transfer market as a manager, but how much does he know about what goes on behind the scenes with regards to club’s hiring new coaches? Quite a bit, Manchester United fans will hope, with the former Spurs boss having said he thinks Jose Mourinho to Old Trafford is a ‘done deal’. Far be it for us to confirm that Mourinho will be United’s next manager based purely on what Redknapp’s saying, but he said it comes from the people he knows who are in the know. Make of that what you will. Meanwhile, Rio Ferdinand has refuted the claim that Cristiano Ronaldo rarely spoke to him whilst at United. Ronaldo said he didn’t engage to Ferdinand, Giggs or Scholes off the pitch. Rio joked that the Portuguese superstar had gone off him.
