Jurgen Klopp on his decision to sign Joel Matip

Published 1 Comments

Jurgen Klopp has made a statement to defend his decision to sign Schalke centre-back Joel Matip on a free transfer. The Cameroon star has agreed to move to Anfield when his current contract is up in the summer and Klopp thinks that move has saved the Reds millions of pounds. The German said plenty of clubs had been chasing Matip - implying that the fact Liverpool had managed to sign him was a coup. Got any thoughts on that deal? Be sure to let us know them. Now, former Liverpool star Michael Owen has had his say on Roberto Firmino, and his say isn’t very positive. Owen said he was ‘split’ on the striker, and let on that he wants to see more from him. Consistency is key, in Owen’s opinion - we’ll assume though that fans have their own ideas.
