Jose Mourinho may agree to join another club if Manchester United fail to call him in the immediate future.
This has been claimed by Spanish expert Guillem Balague, who has insisted that the revered manager is sending the Red Devils a message via the media.
With Louis van Gaal enduring a torrid time in Manchester - the Red Devils currently sit six points behind fourth placed Manchester City in the Premier League - Mourinho has been heavily linked with the top job at Old Trafford.

In fact, it had been reported that the self-proclaimed 'Special One' agreed a deal in principle to become the club's new manager, but Balague has insisted that there is no agreement in place.
In a Q&A for Sky Sports, Balague stated: "I keep saying it every week… at this particular time, right now, there is NO agreement with Mourinho, at all.

"The message that has come in from his camp is that unless they call him now and agree something, he may go to another club. That’s the message he is sending via the media."
Should United act?
There's clearly no way that Van Gaal can take this team forward - United are dire to watch and are struggling to secure positive results on a consistent basis - but there appears to be a reluctance from the hierarchy to make a move for the former Chelsea boss.
Mourinho may well be one of the most established managers in the game, but he certainly brings controversy with him.
However, the Red Devils are in serious trouble right now - they have arguably the weakest Premier League squad they have ever had - so something clearly has to change. Mourinho may or may not be the man to do that, but perhaps the club should take a risk on him at this stage.
Perhaps it's time for executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward to make a move for one of the best managers in the business. It may be too late to save this season, but the Red Devils can't continue to head in the wrong direction.
Thursday's defeat against Danish champions FC Midtjylland was an embarrassing one for all involved. United may well be enduring an injury crisis - they have 14 players on the sidelines - but there was a lack of desire from the players on display. Something has to be done.
