Edin Dzeko is already a leading contender for miss of the season after the AS Roma striker somehow missed an open goal from three yards.
The former Manchester City man must have already been thinking of how he was going to celebrate when his teammate Maicon rolled the ball across the goal for him.
But the target man City brought for £27 million in January 2011 astonishingly screwed his shot wide when it seemed easier to score than miss.

It really is one of those misses that you need to see to believe, so watch the video below and let's all laugh at the Bosnian.
The embarrassing miss happened in the 28th with the score goalless at the time. But the 29-year-old soon made amends by scoring the first and last goals in a comfortable 5-0 victory for Roma.

He may have scored twice but there will be no doubt his teammates would have been reminding him about his horror miss rather than his brace in the changing rooms after the match.
Dzeko spent a successful four-and-a-half seasons at the Etihad helping the club win two Premier League titles. He managed 50 goals in 130 appearances in the Premier League, forming a 'little and large’ strike partnership with Sergio Aguero.
Salah's incredible strike
But the match consisted of the sublime as well as the ridiculous.
Two minutes after scoring his first of the match, former Chelsea winger Mohamed Salah scored a simply outrageous goal.
The Egyptian rounded the goalkeeper but took it far too wide to tap it into the net. However, he managed to keep the ball in play and hooked an audacious effort into the goal to put his side four up.
Chelsea fans will be wondering why Salah didn’t get a chance at Stamford Bridge because he’s been magnificent in the two seasons since leaving west London.
The 23-year-old joined Chelsea for £11 million in January 2014 after they hijacked a bid from Liverpool. However, Salah only managed 13 Premier League matches during his 13 months at Chelsea, scoring twice.
He spent last season on loan at Fiorentina where he scored nine goals in 26 matches in all competitions and he’s continued his excellent form for Roma this campaign where he’s now managed ten goals in 28 games.
The win has left Roma in fourth, eight points off league leaders Juventus and just two adrift of Fiorentina as they look to qualify for next season’s Champions League.
But it’s not all good news for the club.
Captain and club legend Francesco Totti was left out of the match day squad and publicly criticising head coach Luciano Spalletti. The 39-year-old has barely featured this season and his future looks in serious doubt.
