The last time Arsenal went head-to-head with Barcelona they, er, lost 3-1.

But the time before that, three weeks earlier at the Emirates Stadium, Arsene Wenger actually managed to record a win against the Catalan giants. That particular feat was made all the more impressive by the fact Pep Guardiola was in the other dugout.

David Villa gave Barcelona the lead midway through the first half, but goals from Robin van Persie and Andrey Arshavin in the space of five second-half minutes towards the end of the match sealed a famous win for the north London outfit.

The Gunners’ starting line-up has changed a fair bit since then. Just four players who started for Arsenal that night remain on the payroll at the Emirates - and one of them, Wojciech Szczesny, is currently on loan with AS Roma.

Five of the seven players on the Gunners’ subs bench have also moved on, with Tomas Rosicky and Kieran Gibbs the sole survivors.
